Hybrid Systems
Hybrid Systems are systems that are a mix of on premises and cloud.
Rather than committing every workload to one location, a hybrid system keeps some software and data on hardware the organization controls and runs the rest on servers reached over the internet. Organizations usually arrive at this shape for a practical reason: a records system that cannot move stays where it is, while newer work starts in the cloud, where capacity is easier to add.
The trade-off is that the two halves have to be kept in step. Identity, backups and monitoring all have to work in both places, so a hybrid system is generally easier to adopt and more work to operate than either approach on its own.
