Squillo was born at the height of the global pandemic from garages, libraries, and kitchens across the world, driven by reconnecting it.
Investor relations
A frontier model company from the heartland.
Squillo is a frontier model company headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana. Deal flow like this rarely reaches investors in the Midwest, which makes this a rare opportunity to get involved early.
Up to a 30% Indiana tax credit
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) has certified Squillo as a veteran-owned Qualified Indiana Business for the Venture Capital Investment (VCI) Tax Credit, subject to Squillo's continued compliance with the program. An approved investor can earn an Indiana tax credit of up to 30% of a qualified investment, within the program's limits: 30% of the qualified capital Squillo receives in the calendar year, up to $900,000 in total credits shared by all investors under Squillo's investment capital plan, which the IEDC certified for up to $3,000,000. Once that total is used, later investments earn no credit. Indiana law gives the credit to taxpayers with Indiana state tax liability, so investors outside Indiana should confirm their eligibility with the IEDC and a tax advisor before investing.
The credit can be sold, within limits
Investors who would rather not use the credit themselves can try to sell it. Under Indiana law and IEDC rules, a credit earned on an investment made before July 1, 2029 can be sold once: in writing, for cash, at no more than its face value, for at least $10,000 per buyer, and with notice to the IEDC before the sale closes. A buyer cannot resell it and can use it only against Indiana state tax. TechPoint, a private Indiana technology organization, runs the free Indiana VCI Marketplace, which introduces sellers to interested buyers. TechPoint sets no prices or terms, and the State of Indiana does not run or endorse any credit exchange. A sale depends on finding a buyer and agreeing a price, and neither is assured.
A credit that can offset part of the downside
For an approved investor with enough Indiana state tax to use it, the credit can offset up to 30% of the amount invested, so part of the downside is covered once the IEDC certifies the credit. Use it against Indiana state tax for the year it is earned and carry any unused credit forward for up to five years, or sell it once, at no more than face value, if you find a buyer. The credit is not refundable, and it does not guarantee a return or protect against losing the investment.
How it works for investors
- Apply to the IEDC before you invest. Submit a Qualified Capital Investment Application with supporting documents, including a copy of the IEDC's letter approving Squillo as a Qualified Indiana Business (email [email protected] for a copy). The IEDC reviews each application and decides whether to approve it.
- Invest only after the IEDC approves your application, and within two years of that approval. Under Indiana Code 6-3.1-24-12.5, an investment made before the date of your approval letter does not qualify for the credit.
- Squillo completes the Certification for Investors form and sends it to you within 30 days of your investment.
- Send the IEDC a copy of your approval letter, proof that you invested after the approval, and the completed Certification for Investors form. Only then does the IEDC issue your certification letter.
- Claim the credit on your Indiana state tax return.
Qualifying capital is a cash investment. Equity must create or increase your ownership in Squillo. Debt qualifies only if its principal cannot be repaid before 36 months, and secured senior debt from a financial institution does not qualify. IEDC policy also limits the credit for an investor who holds, or through the investment would gain, a majority stake in Squillo.

This section is for information only. It is not an offer to sell, or a solicitation of an offer to buy, any security. Squillo is not offering securities at this time; any future offering will be made only through definitive offering documents to investors eligible under an applicable exemption. Investing in an early-stage company is speculative and illiquid and involves a high degree of risk, including the loss of your entire investment. The IEDC's certification concerns eligibility for the tax credit only; it is not an endorsement of Squillo or a recommendation to invest. Tax credits are subject to IEDC approval, program rules and limits, and Indiana law, and Squillo's certification is subject to continued program compliance. The federal and state tax effects of using or selling a credit vary by investor. Squillo does not give tax, legal or investment advice. Consult your own advisors.
